How we actually work

Substation work is unforgiving. What keeps it safe and on schedule is not a slogan — it is a set of habits our teams hold to on every site.

What We Hold To

Six habits, on every site

Not aspirations. These are the things a client or a new engineer can hold us to.

01

Safety is not negotiable

Every site runs on permit-to-work and lock-out/tag-out. Work stops if the permit is not clear — no exceptions, on any schedule, for any client.

02

One engineer owns the site

Each project has a resident engineer who is accountable end to end. Clients speak to one person, not a rotating queue.

03

Learning happens on live sites

Junior engineers work alongside senior testing teams from day one, under supervision. That is how substation judgement is actually built.

04

Write it down as you go

Test values, deviations and site decisions are recorded the day they happen. Handover files are complete because they were never left to the end.

05

The crew comes first

Proper PPE, decent accommodation on outstation jobs, and wages paid on time. Skilled crews stay where they are treated properly.

06

Say the difficult thing early

If a schedule is slipping or a reading looks wrong, the client hears it that day. Bad news does not improve with age.

Our Office

R.S.E. Projects Work Life

Our corporate office in Phase 8, Mohali is where every project is engineered, procured and tracked — and where the team actually spends its days. Here is what that looks like.

A Day On Site

From toolbox talk to handback

The same rhythm whether the job is a 33 KV bay or a 400 KV switchyard.

  1. 07:30

    Toolbox talk

The day's scope, the hazards in it, and who holds which permit.

  2. 08:00

    Permit and isolation

Isolation verified, earths applied, tags signed before a spanner is lifted.

  3. 08:30

    Execution

Erection, testing or overhaul work under the resident engineer.

  4. 13:00

    Progress check

Where we are against plan, and what the client needs to know.

  5. 17:00

    Records closed

Test sheets filled, deviations logged, tomorrow's material confirmed.

  6. 17:30

    Site handback

Area cleared, tools accounted for, permits returned.

Safety, quality and compliance

Electrical work punishes shortcuts. Our sites run on a documented permit regime, calibrated instruments and records that hold up under audit — because the alternative is someone getting hurt.

Any member of the crew can stop work. Nobody has ever been questioned for doing it.

  • Permit-to-work system on every site, without exception
  • Lock-out / tag-out discipline before any isolation is worked on
  • Daily toolbox talks and documented hazard identification
  • Full PPE issued and enforced — arc-rated clothing for live-adjacent work
  • Calibrated test instruments with traceable calibration certificates
  • Method statements and risk assessments issued before mobilisation
  • Incident reporting and review, including near-misses
  • Statutory compliance and liaison with the electrical inspectorate
Working Here

If you are an engineer reading this

What the job is actually like, before you apply.

Real substations, not simulations

You will be on a live switchyard in your first months, not watching from a training room.

Testing exposure that is hard to get

Because testing is in-house, our engineers run tan-delta, secondary injection and protection coordination themselves.

Work across India

Projects run PAN India, so the exposure spans utilities, pharma, steel, cement and renewables.

Small enough to be seen

Good work is noticed here. There is no layer of management between you and the person who decides.

We hire site engineers, testing engineers and project managers through the year. Send your CV to hr@rseprojects.com with the voltage classes you have worked on.
